Our Story

The Viborg chapter of the Barbershop Harmony Society (BHS), aka The Tri-Valley Barbershop Chorus, has been an active chapter of the society for almost 75 years!

As a chorus, we perform an annual show at either Viborg or Centerville, depending on venue schedule from year to year. In addition, we perform at special community events as well as religious services and retirement homes all over the southeast corner of South Dakota.

There are also 2 active quartets within our chorus, The All Nighters and Bro Squared, and there are always "pickup quartets" singing after chorus rehearsal preparing for the afterglow of our annual show. Please see our "Quartets" page for more information.

The BHS was formerly known as the "Society for the Preservation and Encouragement of Barber Shop Quartet Singing in America" or SPEBSQSA and was founded in 1938.
